Hey there, we’re Modern Stock Agency, and we’re here to shake up the world of stock images! We’re four women photographers and entrepreneurs who’ve joined forces to bring you something different—something bold, striking, artistic, and packed with personality. Each of us has our own unique style, specialty, and a passion for empowering women through our photography.
We didn’t just stumble into this business (though, if we’re being honest, coffee-fueled late-night chats did help). No, we built this agency with purpose—together—and we’re excited to share how it all came together, who we are, and what gets us out of bed every day. Spoiler alert: It’s not just the caffeine.
Our Story: From Convention Strangers to Creative Soulmates
It all started back in 2019, at a photography convention that brought us all together. Four women, each rocking our own successful photography studios, found ourselves sitting in the same room (thanks, fate!). We hit it off instantly, bonding over shared struggles, triumphs, lots of images and the fact that we were all juggling studios, kids, and entrepreneurship.
Fast forward a bit, and we formed a Mastermind group where we supported each other, shared ideas, and made each other laugh (and cry, but mostly laugh) prospering through a pandemic that halted each of our businesses and rising thru the last four years worth of changes. We quickly realized that our combined experience could do some serious magic for other entrepreneurs—because we get it. We know what it’s like to balance the demands of life, business, marketing, and motherhood. And let’s face it—sometimes, you just need an image that says, “I’m a total boss and I’m ready to conquer the world.”
And thus, Modern Stock Agency was born—an agency designed by women, for women (and anyone who loves visually compelling and edgy imagery). We knew our clients wanted more branding imagery and content for marketing but did not have a budget for custom commercial shoots every quarter. There was a gap in the stock photo world: everything felt too generic, and, frankly, too boring. We wanted something that felt fresh. Something that looked like us, talked like us, and inspired others to do their thing unapologetically. And that’s exactly what we set out to create.
